Mother's Nature

Helping you reach a better state of body and mind

A Little Help From Buddha

This time of year can be a bit of a challenge for everyone. So much to get done, not enough hours in the day, losing our temper a bit more than usual. These are a few of my favorite quotes that make me feel a bit more peaceful:

However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do if you do not act upon them?

In the end these things matter most: How well did you love? How fully did you live?  How deeply did you let go?

You only lose what you cling too.

To be free from suffering free yourself from attachments.

See the false as false and the truth as true. Look into your heart and follow your nature.

He who receives kindness should never forget it.  He who performs it should never remember it.

Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they have already.

There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path.

Gratitude turns what we have into enough.

Do not let the behaviors of others destroy your inner peace.

Forget the past you can not change it.  Forget the future you can not predict it. Be in the present.

You will begin to heal when you let go of past hurts, forgive those who have wronged you, and you learn to forgive yourself for your mistakes.

What you think you become, what you feel you attract, what you imagine you create.

True love is born through understanding.

Change is never painful, only the resistance to change is painful.

You will not be punished for your anger you will be punished by your anger.

Let yourself be open and life will be easy.

The darkest night is ignorance.

No one saves us but ourselves, no one can and no one may, we ourselves must walk the path.

No matter how hard the past, every morning we are born again.

Hatred does not cease through hatred at anytime. Hatred ceases through love, this is an unalterable law.

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with intent of throwing it at someone else, you are the one getting burned.

The tongue is like a sharp knife… it kills without drawing blood.

Get Started on Your New Year’s Resolution Early! Benefits of a Healthy Lifestyle

I would say that being a vegetarian would be one of the ways to eat for optimal health. The more you consume food from nature that is made from sun energy, the more vitamins and minerals and nutrients your body will get, naturally.

I would suggest eating organic fruit, vegetables and grains. This will keep your body free of excess toxins that can tax the body’s systems. This will allow your body to work at a rate  that will not tax the liver and kidneys. Also consume 6 to 8 glasses of water daily. Water to helps to keep things moving and flush waste and toxins from the body. Drinking tea is a great way to get healthy antioxidants and hydrate in a healthy way.

Avoiding prepackaged foods that have a lot of salt and preservatives will also keep your kidneys healthy and they won’t have to work as hard to keep your blood clean. Avoiding fast food is another way to keep your another way to keep your body from undergoing stress. Since there is not much nutrients in food at most fast food restaurants there is really no point to eating it anyway. It is full of salt, fat, sugar, and preservatives all of which are very taxing on the body and provide no benefit to your health.

Not consuming soda of any kind diet or regular. Each one has a negative effect on the body and it has absolutely no benefit to your body. It puts extra stress on your heart, liver, pancreas, and kidneys.

Exercise is another way to keep your body in optimum health. Exercise helps to make the heart stronger and improves the flexibility of muscles and joints. Walking is a great way to exercise and it does not require a trip to the gym or expensive equipment.

Getting enough rest is another important component to a healthy lifestyle. Rest and relaxation help the body to heal from the stresses of the day and is very beneficial to overall health. Rest helps your immune system to stay strong, helping you to better fight infections. It also helps joints, muscles, the heart, and mind to relax and heal. A good night’s rest will help you start the next day fresh.

Meditation is one way to help the body relax after a long day. I suggest using a meditation CD to help you focus and learn how to meditate.

I would would also suggest using herbal remedies whenever possible. The chemicals in modern medicine can be harsh and taxing on the bodies system. Antibiotics kill both the bad and good bacteria which can make the body more susceptible to future infections.
